DIRECTIONS TO TURRIALBA:

FROM SAN JOSÉ:

Take the highway towards Cartago on the Florencio del Castillo Highway 2, continue on the same route to Cartago until you arrive to Basílica, in Cartago you want to take Highway 10 east.  Continuing on Highway 10 you pass the through the small towns of Paraíso, Cervantes, and Juan Viñas, all the way to Turrialba.  After passing through the center of Turrialba continue towards Limón, you will pass by the CATIE and go over the bridge over the Reventazón River, after this you will see an intersection, take the left continuing to Limón.  5 Kilometers past this intersection you will find the entrance to the Cerro Alto Mountain Lodge.

If you are traveling by bus, you should go the bus station next to Dr. Echandi’s Clinic in San Jose, take the bus to Turrialba, this will take approximately one hour and forty minutes, when you arrive in Turrialba, take a taxi to the hotel.  This will cost ¢2.500.

FROM THE CARIBBEAN:

If you are traveling from Limón on Highway 32, exit this highway to the right, to Highway 10 in Siquirres and continue on Highway 10 for 40 minutes until you arrive to Pavones, a few small country houses, and after you pass these you will find the entrance to the Cerro Alto Mountain Lodge on your right.

If you arrive by bus from Limón or Puerto Viejo you need to change buses in Siquirres and take another bus to Turrialba, ask the bus driver to stop at the entrance of Hotel Turrialtico, you will need to walk up the driveway 300 meters.  It is not necessary to go all the way to Turrialba.  Arriving by bus will take around an hour.

FROM THE SOUTHERN ZONE:

Take the Interamericana Highway 2 until you reach Cartago in the Central Valley.  In the intersection there you will continue to the right towards the center of the city on Highway 10 and continue on Highway 10 to Turrialba, following the same directions indicated above. (San José –Turrialba).
